My landed property parking revenge story

I reported home owners for parking illegally by the roadside after they reported me, a HDB dweller.

5 years ago, the “entrepreneur” in me bought a car with 6 months COE left with the sole purpose of renting it out. There was a period of 6 consecutive days where the car wasn’t rented out, and I parked the car at my HDB carpark for the first day and it cost me 17 dollars.

Thinking of places to park for free, I drove 100m to the stretch landed properties across the road and saw a line of cars parked by the roadside illegally. In the evening, I went to the very end of the road, where there was space for about 4 cars left. And so I left my car there. It wasn’t blocking any driveway, and was a good 6-7m away from the nearest gate. I drove it every morning to school to make sure there weren’t any “samans” on my windscreen. The car was rented out after parking there for 5 days. And it was all over, or so I thought.

1 month later, I got 5 mails from LTA to my letterbox, saying that I have parked illegally by the roadside. Each of them carried a fine of $70!! I went to appeal at LTA and they waived my first off, only to increase the 2nd-5th fine to 110 each because “I had a previous infraction”. Yes, appealing made the total amount higher. Yes, I spent $440 on parking 10m away from a landed property for 5 days. Not cool, but I was in the wrong. I parked illegally.

5 years later, I went to the same exact road by chance and I instantly got triggered. I know the house owner hasn’t changed, because I took a photo of my car parked there 5 years ago along that stretch of road out of habit and saw the same car there. Using the OneService app, I reported a couple of cars parked at exactly the same place I parked 5 years ago. In under 3 hours, I got a notification that the owners of the cars have been dealt with. I’m not sure if they are able to appeal based on their home ownership, but I hope LTA is strict on their rules. Afterall, that road is public property and it doesn’t belong to the homeowner just because he owns the land behind the gate. I parked illegally, and I got fined. Now, they parked illegally, and they should be fined.

I’m an extremely petty person and I’m loving the revenge so far. I’m wondering if I should report them daily. Should I?

Edit: Illegal because there’s a single white line in the middle of the road
